This category is effectively a reference for all pots.(Used alone it will not usually be visible to the website viewer) From loading information onto the website onward it may go through several categories:-
Initially it may be in “AllPots” as it may be one of many of a particular type (eg tag- :- pebble pot) and therefore not needed in the “shop”or gallery of work.
Later it may be moved to “DiplayInShop” if others are sold or if it is particularly good example of its type.
It might also be a pot that warrants being shown in “MyWork”
Finally, once sold it will catergorised “Sold/WithdrawnPot”. The record might show where it was sold and for how much – though this record would not be visible to the website viewer.

The coiled pot is made from left over clay which has been lightly wedged. The patterns are clear and distinct. The shape was a challenge to get the symmetry right. The result, I think, has worked.
Height 30cm. Diameter 13cm.

This tall slender pot has a black spiral neck. The flowing vertical patterns of coloured clay create a sense of movement.
Height 27cm. Diameter 7cm.
Price £40.00.
The cylindrical pot has black and white stripes which work well with the shape of the pot. This reminds me of the sharp light and dark shadows on a hot sun filled day in North Africa where shade is essential.
Height 22cm. Diameter 7cm.

I am experimenting with cylindrical shapes and spiral necks. The mixing of the black and white clay have produced free flowing spiralling patterns which harmonise well with the shape.

This was definitely a labour of love as assembling the linear black and white lines into a chequered board effect needed a fair amount of control on my part. No way could the clay be spontaneous and have a mind of its own. The patterning complimented the shape of the bowl and I was pleased with the result.
Height 11cm. Width 22cm. Depth 20cm.
Price: £60.00
Creating the square patterns for this bowl was fun and I wanted to make a statement so decided to create a centre motif that dwarfed the surrounding patterns. The patterns were made by layering the coloured clay and then extruding them through a square disk. The square tube is then cut and the pieces are assembled to create the pattern.

The ‘swirlings’ remind me of the eddies of a sandy whirlpool where I used to go rock pooling as a girl in Africa.
Height 9cm. Diameter 23cm.
Price: £45.00
A black and white circular patterned bowl with a black foot. The circular design takes time to create as the patterns have to be rolled rather like a swiss roll and then extruded. They are then cut and laid out and rolled flat. Trying to create a uniform pattern with wayward clay can be a real challenge.
Height 11cm. Diameter 17cm.
Price: £90.00. SOLD
Moving away from more ‘curvy’ pots I have been experimenting with angular shapes and seeing how the more spontaneous swirls of the agate patterns compliment the rigid form. The addition of a spiral neck also joins in the challenge.
Height 20cm. Width 11cm. Depth 11cm.
